On October 30 the Golden Soffit awards ceremony was held at the Bryantsev Youth Theatre (St. Petersburg). Eifman Ballet soloist Oleg Gabyshev won this top theatre award of St. Petersburg in the nomination “Best male role in a ballet performance” (for the role of the Heir in the revised Russian Hamlet).
In the end of October and beginning of November Eifman Ballet will tour in Surgut and Krasnoyarsk. On October 28 and 29 the spectators of Surgut will see the ballet Anna Karenina. On October 31 and November 1 Eugene Onegin will be danced in Krasnoyarsk.
The XIV awards ceremony of the Baltic Star, an international prize for development and consolidation of humanitarian relations in countries of the Baltic region, took place today at The Hermitage Theatre. Boris Eifman was named its laureate.
From September 7 to 16, Eifman Ballet will perform in China. This tour will mark the start of the 41st season of the Company. Eifman Ballet will visit Shanghai and Beijing. In both cities the world-renowned ballets Anna Karenina and Rodin, Her Eternal Idol will be presented.
On August 30, Eifman Ballet of St. Petersburg has finished the summer vacation. Having held a traditional gathering, the Company began preparations for the opening of a new 41st season. During the first half of the season, the celebration of the 40th anniversary of Eifman Ballet, celebrated this year, is going to continue.
