Today governor of Saint Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko has visited the construction site of Dance Academy of Boris Eifman. Georgy Poltavchenko was pleased with the quality and pace of the project's realization and highly appreciated its social and cultural importance.

"What we have seen gives optimism. I liked the quality of the construction works. And if all goes as planned, by the end of this year we will probably finish the object itself, and by September, 2013, we will announce the first enrollement at the Academy and open it as a full-fledged educational institution. It seems to me that nowhere in the world you may find such educational organization. This will be the object that our city will be proud of", - said Georgy Poltavchenko.

Governor also marked: "Boris Yakovlevich has warm-hearted and good idea. First and foremost he wants to enrol to the Academy the talented children from orphanages, problem and one-parent families, children who lost parents. In order to give them a possibility to get closer to a full-fledged life, to disclose their talents as much as possible, to receive a good education. I think this idea should be supported".

Dance Academy is being built on the place of the dismantled rehearsal base of Eifman Ballet. The construction works started in May, 2011. The project includes apartment block, educational buildings, and atrium yard with ballet halls that unites them. The talented children and teenagers aged 7 to 18 who will receive vocational education will study choreography here.
